Default Red peppers and spices

For all we know, spices are used for cooking. To make our food tastier and sumptuous. I remember when I was about 7 years old, I was playing around at the backyard of my grandmother's house and I got a scratch from a long, rusted nail and it bled. Scared that it was going to leave a mark on my right leg, I immediately pick one of my grandfather's red peppers from the garden and rubbed it on the scratched area. Obviously after rubbing the red pepper, my fingers and leg was hot and spicy to the touch...

I really don't know what came into me and why I did that as my first aid. Fortunately, with the action that I took, the scratch healed after two days and it didn't leave a mark on my leg at all. I guess the most frightening part for me at that age was being told about tetanus from rusted things.

Based on my short story about the red pepper, does anyone have any idea of what's the factor that it helped or did it?

I don't know what would have helped really. I have never heard of red peppers having any kind of natural remedy status.

Anyone else know?

Wow that's really cool, I know tetanus can be really dangerous especially for kids and even adults. I didn't know red pepper can be that helpful.

I'm not sure about desinfection and scratches, but I know something else hot red peppers are good for. My grandma always had a bottle of alcohol with small red peppers soaked in it. When someone would catch a cold, especially with bad coughing, grandma would rub that stuff in their chest before bed. It would make you feel very warm, and you'd quickly recover.

That's pretty random. I never knew peppers could be used for things like that

my guess is that the nail did not have any tetanus germs or the cut was
superficial and light. The same effect probably would have happened
if you had picked any vegetable in the garden.
