Default Natural Cure or doctor consultation

I am just curious if you prefer the natural remedies at home (when sick or something) or consult right away to a doctor if you're not feeling well..

I prefer home remedies, and they usually help very well with simple things like colds, sore throat, upset stomach, etc. I only go to the doctor if something is serious and / or persistent.

If you think your problem is a simple one, try home remedies, if it acute you need a Doctors consultation, Don't know what will happen when , so, first take home made as first aid and go for check up for further evaluation.

Kantha is right. You can't just go to the doctor if you only have a minor problem that would be a total waste of money. Home remedies sometimes are much better than medicines.

I don't like going to the doctor's office, but sometimes natural cures can't replace the knowledge of a doctor's experience. On the other hand, medicine can't cure everything.

Sure, here are some of my favorites that are proven to work.

- For cough, cold, or sore throat, a cup of hot water with a spoon or two of honey mixed is very good. It is best to be taken before bed.

- Another remedy that is especially good for cough is hot milk with a small piece of butter and a touch of baking soda added into it. Yes, it does not taste very good, but it helps.

- For diarrhea, take pomegranate peels, add hot water, and cover the cup; let it sit for 5 minutes or so, then remove the peels and drink the water. It can be drank when it cools off, too, throughout the day.

I agree with Lissy. These minor ailments call for minor remedies. Sometimes it is good to try the alternative way. Isn't it easier to get better by doing so?
