Default Nail biter

Okay, I will admit it. I'm a nail biter! I have never outgrown the habit. I know it is a disgusting habit. But how do I stop? Tips?

I used to bite nails as a kid, but when I turned into a teenager, I wanted to have beaufitul, manicured nails, so I started using nail polish, and it had helped me to kick the habit. Have you tried nail polish? If you have, say, 3 coats on, wouldn't it stop you from biting?

Neem or Castor oil.

That's what we coat the kids' fingers long time back in India.

Though I don't have this habit of nail bitting.
I agrees that Neem and Castor oil are the good option to stop this habit. But this is useful only for kids and the adults can't leave this habit as they have become habitual to it.

That didn't work for me. I just chewed the tips, and then the trips shredded and broke off. It's the nervous habit that won't quit. Doesn't matter what you have to chew on.

I don't have that bad habit. Still i see some person always sincerely biting their nails when they are sitting and watching TV. Yes nail polish will definitely help to get rid of that habit.

I'm still a nail bitter at this age. I used to bite my nails especially when I'm doing nothing. I find it enjoying biting my nail but I have to quit it because it's causing my nails to break.

I think nail biting is a little like drinking. You have to do it in steps. Place limits on your nail biting. Start with a simple restriction like never biting your nail in public or something and then work your way up from there until you break the habit.

Yeah since it has some sorts of addictive powers. In my case I almost don't remember the last day I bite my nail.

Default Nail biter

Nail bitter can become very sensitive to pain. Nail biting is also related to dental problem, such as gingival injury. If you have this habit you must change else that lead you viral infection.

Always give work to your nail to keep out of nail biting. Some persons will have that habit due to nervousness, boredom, fatigue etc. Try to overcome this kind of situation by engaging with other works.

Is it just me or does biting your nails feel like an unconscious habit? For me, I'll have a finger in my mouth and will have bit the nail off halfway before I actually realize it.

I have to also admit that I have been biting my nails since I was a kid. My mother used to try anything that tasted bad on my nails. My grand father offered me money to stop. I have had a couple of periods in my life where I actually let them grow such as for my wedding. But then, without even being aware of it I would start again.

My daughter used to bite her nails constantly. I have found a product by Sally Hansen at the drugstore. It looks like clear nail polish and it is applied on nails every day. I have used it on my daughter's nails, after a few weeks, she has stopped biting her nails. I don't know whether or not it works for everyone, as it could have been a psychological response from her part, but it might be worthwhile to give it a try as well.

There's a certain type of nail polish that tastes terrible that you can put on your nails to help you not want to bite.

Now, this is kinda a funny idea, but my lil sis used to do it and every time she would, she would force herself to eat hotsauce haha.. cuz she hates it. It worked for her.. kinda strange tho huh??

Once you become conscious that you are biting your nails, stop immediately. If you always do this and remind yourself that you are getting rid of that habit, it will eventually stop.

Could you control yourself? I mean, that is the answer to your problem. Restrain yourself from biting your nails. Divert your attention. Talk to your friends and go out with them. You should eat something. I think it could help too.
