I have the worst fingernails! They are always splitting and breaking. Is there something that I can put on them to make them stronger?

if you are having cracks in our nails wen grown long, then try this one..
soak your fingers in water for awhile, then immediately apply a moisturiser / petroleum jelly..this makes ur nails stronger.
dont forget to reapply moisturiser after u wash your hands.

I have always used vitamin E for my nails and they are as hard as they can get - they don't brittle and my cuticles are also very smooth. If you go to a natural products store, you can find the oil in small bottles. Just massage your nails and cuticles with it twice a day and you will see a great difference in less a month

I find that my nails become much more brittle during the winter. I use an aloe vera based hand and nail cream, taking the time to rub small amounts of lotion into my cuticles and nails.

There are some nail polishes out there that strengthen nails. I've known many people that use them and they seem to work really well for them. Plus, many of them don't chip very easily so it's nice. I'm pretty sure they'll have colored ones as well

Someone told me that it is due to lack of calcium ? is it so ?
if yes then what is solution ?

there's usually nothing you can do about brittle nails calcium supplements might help if you are low on calcium otherwise theres nothing you can do about it

Although NItyakapoor a forum member who seems obsessed with nails and nail polish might be able to help you

NAIL STRENGTHINING RECIPE:

2tsp castor oil
2tsp vitamin e oil
1tsp iodine solution(colourless iodine)
1tsp wheat germ oil

add this mixture in a washed emptied nail polish bottle, and shake it very well. apply onto nails in the morning and at night with the brush and leave for 15-20 minutes. then wipe off with a cotton pad.
and wash hands after 1/2 hour.
it has good results =)
Note: avoid eating anything while having this liquid on the nails.
