Default Care for your nails

Splitting and breaking nails of the nails is a common problem. There are many reasons that attribute to the splitting and breaking of nails. Most of the time it is the household activities like washing, cleaning etc that is harsh on the nails. But a lot also depends on how we treat them. And what we eat. Eggs and whole grains if added to your diet, then nails may grow healthy and beautiful. Many a times the natural oil from our hands is taken away by the usage of soaps and detergents in our daily routine . The nails then become brittles and dry. A regular manicure is advised here. You can also apply vitamin e oil to your nails regularly.

I've been using a lavender oil cuticle pen which does seem to help the cuticles, but I've also put it on the nails and it does make them look a little better.

I have noticed it, too, that good nutrition works better than most nail care products. I try to eat well, with lots of veggies and fruit included into my diet, plus a great nutritional supplement. I can tell that it has helped my nails and hair.

I noticed that everytime I do the laundry (manual hand washing), my nails break easily. is it because of the detergent contents? What i do is to put hand lotion on the affected area. It works for me.

Hi Layla.I was just wondering if you'd like to come to know one more method how to avoid splitting and breaking nails.I've found one site selling pretty decorated items of lots of sorts. And I got interested in one crystal nail files 'cos it's written there that using the files helps to decrease breaking and splitting nails.Well as I've tried so hard to improve my nails look I thought to make a try again and ordered one nail file just in case.

Martina - to avoid splitting and breaking of nails you need to use a filer, not the metal one but the cardboard one which is better and best for your nails. Make a habit to massage some kind of oil preferably olive oil into your nails every night, which will strengthen them.
