Post Help...Bad looking nails

I use my hands a lot. Always on the computer, doing homework, washing dishes, running bathwater and washing my daughter, playing the piano, gardening and many other things. I have no problem growing my nails but the skin around my nails is always dry and it makes my nails look terrible. Does anyone know of any great moisturizers for hand and nails?

I can't name any specific types of hand moisturizers right off the bat but there are some great hand creams made from Vasoline and a few I had previously got from Bath and Body Works which were great for severely dry skin.

I use vitamin E for my hands and nails. It makes my skin very soft and keeps it moisturized for extended periods. You can find vitamin E oil at drugstores or specialized bath & body products stores as well.

I wish I knew what it's called. I'll have to let you know later if my mom remembers... anyway. There's this stuff I got at a little mall kiosk once.. it comes in a little eyedropper, and you place a drop on each nail once a week, I believe. OMG! It makes your nails shiny and it's just amazing feeling. They get all smooth. It comes with a four step nail scrub thingy.. it's fantastic! I didn't recognize my nails!!!!!

The Onsen system. Don't use it too much, it just makes your nails
thinner. I got suckered into buying one some time back ;-)

I get suckered into buying everything. O ya.. I do remember my mom saying it made her nails really, really thin. It worked for me though because I have really thick nails. Guess I was lucky. I've even used a regular nail filer on my nail.. on the top part.. not a good idea lol. Sure gotta ridda the ridges tho!!!

Buy a good quality hand and nail cream but take the time to massage the cream into the cuticle area and around the drier parts. Have you heard of Roc? they are an expensive brand, but they work a treat.

Besides using skin care products. I would also like to advise you to drink plenty of water. Dehydrated skin means that you're dehydrating, so the answer's probably just to drink a lot of water. Also try to soak your hands in water, that could work.
