Default Brittle nails problem

Dear Friends,

I have this problem of brittle nails. No matter what I do, they grow and break. My nails get very soft when wet. Most of the times layers from the edges of nails come out, which make me to peel off the layer. Now the layer beneath gets thin and eventually I have to cut it off, otherwise it gets stuck to clothes and break unevenly.

Does anyone of you have the same problem or if someone could tell how to overcome this, as I love long nails..

I think you are lack in calcium. Try to have a cup of milk daily to get rich calcium then your nail problem gone out.

I don't think it's necessarily lack of calcium, I'm lactose intolerant, so I take a daily supplement that gives me the calcium I need, and my nails are exactly as preethi described hers.

I think I'll give that oriflame hand cream a try though, thanks

apply almond oil to your nails before you go to sleep. it will strengthen your nail and also the nails grow fast.

they say that rubbing fresh garlic on the nails will help strengthen your nails. you can try this, although i don't know if you can tolerate the smell. you can also try applying polish which are specifically designed for brittle nails.

Try taking vitamin, Biotin. This will help strengthen your nails. Creams are also available.

If you are pregnant or nursing a baby, do not take Biotin.
