Default Relaxation

When I'm really stressing out, listening to music, singing, and dancing help me quite a bit. I'm not sure what I'd do without music!! It has really become such a huge part of my life. When I lived with my mother and would practically never come out of my room, music kept me going. It made me realize that things always turn out in the end.

Music helps me relax too, I can listen to music for hours at a time. However, what really relaxes me even more is completely emptying my mind from all thoughts and staying that way for a few minutes. When I do this, my whole body relaxes as well and I can get up and get on with the rest of my day feeling much better about everything that's going on in my life.

One thing that I love about music is that it always has the power to relax me. If I want to be really upbeat, I'll listen to something electronic or something with rock, but if I'm feeling very downtempo, I'll listen to something instrumental or ambient.

I think my mistake is that when I'm upset, I want to listen to depressing things. For me though, crying gets it all out. I think they key is, not letting yourself cry for too long, otherwise you just get lost in this depression and it's not healthy

I agree, letting negativity linger tends to bring on more of it into our lives. If we can allow ourselves to let go of it, we can move on and perhaps focus on better things.
