Who doesn’t like romantic comedies everyone does even Shakespeare wrote romantic comedies, he took time off from his tragedies to do romantic comedies now if that doesn’t show the lure of the genre I do not know what will. Hollywood has over the years come out with a number of movies in this genre most of which have been huge hits and continue to be watched even years after their release. Unlike purely romantic movies romantic comedies are enjoyed by a larger number of people even by people who don’t seem to like simple romantic movies. One of the all times favourite romantic comedy is Harry met Sally. I like the way the movie progresses showing how two individuals change over time and later come to prefer the very same individual they years earlier had rejected as unsuitable. Many of us can probably relate to the movie and its tag line of “can men and women just ever be friends?” I personally think yes a man and a woman can be friends without the element of romance or sexuality creeping in. I know many would disagree with me and like Harry and Sally disagreed with each other, its interesting thought that Harry finally wins the argument, seems like the producer and the director and most importantly the script writer were on Harry side. I feel that Sally should have won considering that many of us work alongside the members of opposite sex and do have them as platonic friends. Right ? |

Romantic comedies are so amazing! They are probably my favorite type of movie lately because scary movies just freak me out and are so negative.. they're really getting butal. I think a lot of em go too far. I mean, some of the stuff could really get help. I saw When In Rome recently and thought that was pretty cute. I like Kristen Bell :P |

| I really think movies in general are just getting really lame. They tend to not have very strong characters and basically no story line. It's really upsetting.

I'm not much of a fan of the romantic comedy genre, but I will watch a romantic comedy if there's moer emphasis on the comedy than on the romance. The best kind of romantic comedy is the kind that's more aimed at the male demographic. I find those really entertaining because the characters are so stupid it's funny.
