Under a Tuscan Sun
A writer's husband cheats on her and she ends up buying an old villa in Tuscany. With only her books and personal belongings she starts a new life. The construction team renovating the house becomes her friends. She experiences the true hospitality and love of the Italians. Her house becomes a haven to her pregnant friend and the two teenage lovers.
Diane Lane is brilliant as the writer Frances Mayer. The symbolism of the waterless tap is very subtle and well used. The comedy is clever and heartache never cliched.
