Default Contraceptive in Womb

My husband wants to stop using a condom and wants me to have a coil placed in my womb. I am concerned that there may be side affects. Does anybody here use this method. I wanted him to use the withdrawal method but he feels that he does not want to risk a child yet. We are newly married and he wants to delay children until later.

Regards.
Gurj.

There are no major side affects which occur, but during the beginning when the coil is inserted, you may feel some pain or cramps, and also it may cause irregular bleeding and the reason for this is because there is a foreign object inside your womb, and the body takes time to get used to it.
For some women it works fine and for some it fails to settle down inside the body, so its more like a trial and error for every women.

If your husband is not happy with the withdrawal method and you don't want to use a condom then you can always take pills. Or another option is to have a contraceptive injection, which is done every 3 months.

I cant think of the name of the injection off the top of my head, but will get back to you on this. This is a method I used myself, when my husband and I felt we were not ready for a child, and it works fine with no side affects.

Thank you Dips for your reply. I have noted your suggestions. Are there any issues with the injection?

I have been told that the condom is the safest but my husband feels that it constricts the penis , especially the tip.

Do you know of any other contraceptives that may be beneficial? Please advise.

Thank you.

The condom is definitely not the safest. It is only about 90% safe.
Withdrawal method is even worse. The pill, IUDs, etc are more reliable.

Properly worn condoms should not constrict the tip. I am not sure if he is
wearing it the right way. He should leave about half an inch at the tip
of the condom 'unoccupied'.

Thanks F for your reply. I don't mind trying the injections , pills etc. but I'm concerned if there will be any problems associated with them.

Yes there are side effects associated wit using pills , hormone injections too ave side effects .. but minimal compared to pills.

Condoms are the safest in terms of zero side effects alto like farce said they do not offer full protection from conception.

Why not try female condoms ?
