I do think so. For me the first thing in a relationship is giving your partner an assurance and security. Getting married means giving your partner the assurance for her/him to hold unto.

I like the idea of marriage. Don't get me wrong. But my better half and I have been together for almost 10 years now.

Yes, I think it is very important. It's the way God meant it. The idea of marriage has cheapened, people think it is some old-fashioned custom, and if you take God out of the picture, perhaps it is. Absolutely, marriage is important in a relationship. It makes everything legal in the eyes of other people and God. However, we all have our own choices as to whether we should engage in such commitment or not. Why would you be in a relationship if you don't want to be married?
