My mom was married for nearly twenty-five years before her husband died. They were very happy together, and my mom still loves my dad even though he passed away. Even though my mom does not have any professional qualifications, do you think she would be qualified to help people with their marriage since she was happily married for so long?

I am sure she qualifies, as many other people and couples that I know - they don't have a license, but they have tons of experience. Sometimes a man or woman like that, who has been married for a long time, says just one phrase - and here is so much wisdom in it that you will never forget it.

My mom may not have a degree or anything formal, but she is full of practical ideas about how men and women should treat each other. I keep telling her that she would make a good counselor or at least write a book.

| Sounds to me like she would have very good insight as a councilor. She should look into it, you never know until you try

If anything, she could give out some very good advice on an informal but paying basis. Maybe she could get herself a website. That sounds like something good to do online.
