Dry skin will benefit most from an oil-based foundation, although a water-based foundation with a bit of oil will also work. The idea is to keep the skin moist & blooming without resembling a skillet, so a semi-matt finish could be considered, which is also easier to apply. |

When my face is dry, I use a moisturizing lotion and then apply foundation - not right away, I take some time for the lotion to absorb and do its work. It helps, and the results last well.

I get a lot of dry skin during the summer. One thing I do that helps is to using an intensive moisturising cream before going to bed. I make sure I apply lots of it and it usually helps the problem.

I have really bad dry skin, particularly in my hair, this looks like dandruff but worse, I went to my doctor and found out I have dermatitus, I now regularly get a prescription for a lotion that I rub into my dry skin areas and this keeps them from flaking for about a week. I also have a skin range from Mary Kay for dry skin that includes a moisturiser, cleanser and conditioner that really helps me.

I've been lucky and have found some really good lotions. There are some for different levels of dry skin. When I lived in Colorado, my skin was so bad, it felt all tight and my lips were always cracking and bleeding. Now that I'm back in Washington, it's not as bad anymore
