I'm a firm believer in love at first sight as it happened to my husband and I. We met and were married within six weeks and we've been together for over 30 years now. It hasn't always been easy, but I don't think any relationship is. We truly are soul mates though and I feel extremely blessed!

That is a great story. How did you meet? I met my husband and was interested in him, but he didn't even give me the time of day So I guess love at first sight doesn't apply to us.

| Actually we were both in Basic Training for the Army at the time. It was kind of crazy....and certainly not what either of us expected!! I didn't even know his name and just knew when I saw him the first time.

It seems to me though that today's generation is getting married at a much later age. Hubby was just 21 and I was 19 when we married so I'd say we were pretty young. I know our kids are in their 20's and 30's and haven't married yet except for one whose marriage just didn't work out. Kids might mature faster due to outer influences, I'd have to agree with that, but they still seem to wait longer these days to marry. It wasn't our goal when we first met and almost we married on a dare it seems, but I knew he was my soul mate at first sight and vice-versa.

Congratulations and I hope you have many more happy years, that is an amazing story and I love hearing stories like this. I don't know if it was love at 1st sight for us but there was a strong attraction.

I don't think it's really 'love at first sight', I think it's more like 'curious at first sight'. There are just those people that, once you see them, you want to see them again. You think of all the different ways that you could make sure to 'accidentally' bump into them again, or what you could say to get them to be curious about you too.

It's good to know that the magic of love at first sight happened to you, it's quite a rare find. You can actually compare it to fairy tales, it's cute and fun but it's just that it doesn't work for everyone. Are you familiar with the cliche, "don't judge a book by its cover?"

To me it's more like "love at first conversation" That's how I felt about my husband. I knew the first day I met him that I wanted to marry him. We were married just four months later. I never believed in long courtships.

It happened in my life..........when i saw my husband first time. I cannot express in words. At the first sight itself my inner feeling tells me "He is my future and he is everything for me". That feeling is true now.

I actually experienced love at first sight. It was quite weird because the first time you saw the guy, it was like you knew him before. I really can't explain the feeling but all I know is that you feel comfortable with him. I thought it was him I'll end up with but I was wrong. I am not quite sure if it was love I felt. Well now, I guess it was not.

Well, I don't believed with love at first sight. According to one of my friend it's not love yet when the first time you saw him. In order to make it love of course you have to make an effort also. Am I right?

For me, you have also a point chjoy. But it seems that you really have to take a risks in order that first sight to move into love. Is that what you are trying to say?

Perfectly, kyles. Because for sure the first time you saw him/her is not yet love. It's just an affection. That's why, you have to be friend of him/her first. LOL! What do you think?

Well, maybe chjoy is correct. For me, it's not not yet love the first time you meet that person. I think, it's just a feeling of affection. Am I right?

Well I bet it's love at first sight to me also when I first saw his avatar on YM. I really liked him the first time I talked to him. He's so kind and gentle. I remembered that he even called me sassy girl when we first dated. Oh it brings back memories.

Well, for that that's a great feeling of affection. I don't think so it was already love. What do you feel that time and you felt it was already love?

regarding this topic, i don't believe in love at first sight. it may be that it was attraction at first sight, for there may be "sparks" or "chemistry" when 2 people first meet, but for my standards and definition of love, i don't believe this happens at first sight. that's just my opinion though. |

I don't believe in that love at first sight thing. Most people can't even keep it together, and most marriages end in divorce. Love at first sight can happen, but it likely won't last. Some people do get lucky and find someone decent.

It's really hard to describe if it's really love at first sight or not. The feeling is really confusing.

I believe in love at first sight, but it is not always in a romantic sense. Once, I was at a friend's house when there was a knock at the door. The friend was in another room and asked me to open the door. When I did, there was a gentleman there, our eyes meet and we just starred at each without saying a word for what seemed like forever. When my friend came out of the room he introduced me to his friend and invited him in. After that day we would get together and talk. We were very comfortable with each other like we had known one another for years.

Could you really tell that it was love at first sight? I think it is only a state of mind. Love at first sight could be more of an attraction. It would be called love if the feeling would be developed.
