I can't help but be a bit jealous of my sister at times, because I wish I had all the things growing up that she does. She has such a beautiful house, and she wasn't stuck living with mom like I was. I just wish sometimes that her dad could have gotten custody of me. I wonder what I would have been like.. but then again, I'm very thankful for everything that's happened to me. I like who I am today.

Sometimes we want to change our story, certain things in our past... I can relate to that. There are things in my past I still don't like talking about, and there was a time I wished to change or at least hide them. I grew to understand and accept that certain things are beyond our control. It's not the choices we made: you don't choose where you are born, into what family, etc. We just have to move on, grow, and become what we want to be.

I couldn't agree more. I really do appreciate all the hard times, because I'm a stronger person because of it. A great example of this is the fact that I took care of my grandma as she was dying and literally watched her die.. I watched her being carried out of our house. All of that is something I never thought I would be able to handle. I'm very proud of myself!
