Could you ever date online? I don't know much about it, and how it works exactly, but I think it could probably work. I mean, it's the same as meeting people randomly when you're out and about. My advice to anyone doing this, BE CAREFUL! I would advise meeting people in very public places, just in case.

My husband and I had actually met online. I agree that one needs to be careful when meeting people on the Internet, I have heard some bad stories as well. But sometimes it does work. We had been emailing and talking on the phone for several months, then he came over to meet me in person and proposed.

We are going to celebrate our 9th anniversary soon.

I think what made it work in our case is honest communication, from the start. Both of us did not try to misrepresent ourselves in any way, we knew what we wanted in life, and we openly shared our thoughts. So even before we actually met, we knew each other pretty well.

Phew isn't it good that Internet makes people around the world so connected? Dating online seems to be quite handy to those who are looking for a special someone. I've known so many couples who actually started their relationship as chatmates.

Oh yea now that you mention it. The best thing that people has ever invented is Internet. It's so useful and very informative.

I agree, Internet is great.

It also matters a lot how serious you are about the person you've met online. If they are just a profile page, and you keep looking around and dating others, things might not go far. As soon as I realized that I had met someone special, I told other guys in my life I was "seeing someone." He did the same. Our relationship, although Internet-based, was exclusive. Never regretted it!
