Love is a very abstract concept and when I asked myself the same question, I found that it was quite hard to answer. I thought about it for a while, I knew how it made me ''feel'' but putting it into the words was a challenge. Finally, I decided that I would just define it by saying ''it is a strong feeling that has no equal, no clear explanation that goes beyond every other existing emotion''.

To me defining love is, caring for someone and their comfort and making sacrifices for that person. Loving them unconditionally. Accept them as they are and not try to change them.

Yes, i agree with your definition. Appreciating the person for who he or she is without demanding the things she or he needs to change. And even if their attitudes are not to your liking, you need to become flexible because its you who understands and knows how to guide their life.

Its still up to them if they wanted to choose your suggestions or advices.

Truly caring for another person. The form and intensity of this love may change, but it is something that you will never forget in you existence. True, unconditional love is like nothing else you will ever feel. It's the willingness to put your life on the line for another, to take a bullet for them. You care about them above yourself and want to see them happy. You will do anything in your power to make it work, within reason. It's just a feeling of bliss, ecstasy. Just being around that person is the best part of your day

For me love means a fully acceptance the whole being of someone you love. A feelings that your hearts dictating in every minute of the day. The real love is neither boastful nor envious.

Hah. This is going to be the first thread I answered!

Love means understanding and accepting. If you love someone, you must understand his points of view, why he did that, why he is like that. We have so many differences, everyone is unique! We think differently, and, if you show understanding to one person, it means you feel love for him. There are times that me and my partner have conflict because of certain things, we argue. I was close minded. But until lately, I learned to understand that he did that because of some thing he believed is right. He is like that, and I must accept for what he is. I accept and understand him, therefore, I love him.

love is a two way relationship. Love means you have to accept whole heartedly the person you love. That is together with his flaws. This some one would always be a part of your daily living, from the start of your day til the end.

I think, it's really difficult to describe love in words, to the point that it is not to be defined but to be felt. It is like a mangoe. You eat a ripe mangoe and you know how taste it is, but you cannot describe it in words. It's easier to give a mangoe to the asking person and let her try it herself.

That's really sweet Pinkmask. I agree with you - it is so important that we accept our partners as they are. I found that it gives me a deeper understanding of the person that he is when I accept my husband as he is and not try to impose my opinions on him. It's not always easy but as long as we remember that we are all different in our own ways, things have a way of going smoothly and relationships are much easier to deal with.
