My sister in law has always had everything handed to her. My father in law just passed away and my mother in law was telling my sister in law that now she won't have anyone to go shopping with. She also told her that she is worried about money.

My sister in law comes back with "I will go shopping with you if you pay."

I just thought that was so selfish!

There are people who are after for the money only. As if world will stop if they don't have money. Your sister-in-law maybe broke that she needs more money to spend.

I don't have anyone like this in my family thankfully, but I know some people from my dad's side of family who are only into making more money and they are pretty nasty with anyone who tries telling them that money is not everything.

There a lot of people who think that money is the most important thing in life, and they've probably discovered recently because of the recession just how fleeting having money is. Maybe your sister-in-law could be a mystery shopper. You can get what you want on someone else's dime.

What a terrible thing to say to a grieving mother! Especially since she has just expressed concern over not having enough money... Some people just don't get it.

My brother-in-law can be like this with his mother. She lives far away and only comes to visit about once or twice a year. If she wants to spend time with him, she has to practically beg him to go out for dinner with her - and pay for the dinner, too.

Ahh my sister in law is like that even though she is now a registered nurse she still asks for money from my parents in law. She even asks for my dad-in-law to give her money for her cellphone call/text needs. Her brother can't even ask for a single coin from his parents but his sister can. It's kinda annoying to think that some people are just too greedy to have some more money and getting stuffs without spending anything. Geez.

I have to fault the parents for that. I mean, why do they keep giving her money?? She is a working adult! Yes, there are kids who refuse to grow up, but it is up to the parents to send them a clear message by cutting financial support.

That's because they got favoritism among the children since they're just 2 siblings they really favor more on the girl's needs. She's a spoiled brat alright because she gets everything she asks for and she's also a daddy's girl. I guess spoiling a kid that much will make them grow up like that. >.>
