My sister in law and mother in law have decided to throw a baby shower for my daughter in law. Instead of having a baby shower at one of their houses, they decided to throw it at the family reunion!

I couldn't believe it when I saw the invitation. It was actually the invitation to the family reunion and on the bottom it said "There will be a baby shower for Amber if anyone wants to participate." How tacky is that????

Aww.. that's really quite insensitive if you may as me! "... if anyone wants to participate"! I guess you should put your foot down there. After all, you she is your daughter-in-law! Your mother-in-law and sis-in-law might have done whichever way they wished it to be, but this time you should be in the limelight, shouldn't you?

All I can say is how rude... it is suppose to be HER day not shared with the family reunion ..I would not of gone I would of felt out of place . If I were her I would have said no thanks and had someone else do the shower ...I guess some just dont understand that baby showers are meant for the mother and the baby ....

That is really inappropriate. A baby shower is a very special occasion for the new mom and should not be just tucked into another gathering, as though trying to get done with it at the same time! If it were done for me, I would have been very upset and made sure everyone knew about it too. They should have chosen a different date for this wonderful occasion and thought about her feelings first and foremost...

Perhaps they wanted to include as many relatives in it as possible?... Still, that could have been easily achieved by sending out more invitations. I wonder how the mother-to-be feels about it?

if they wanted to include as many relatives, they should have given out the invitation for the baby shower on the reunion. baby shower should be separate with the reunion. because it's all about the baby and mom to be, it's their time.
