Has anyone else heard this - when i had my 2nd baby I was adamant i wanted active labour and natural delivery - so I was told - hey - used the gymball - it was fab - i sat on it, leant over it during painful contractions - rested against it when pushing - then it all went wrong - labour stopped - they tried drugs etc but in the end he was emergency c-section - obviously I am glad he is ok and i am fine, but am saddened that since then about 25 plus people have said - oh yeah - the gymball is known in maternity units at the c-section ball - most women using it in labour end up with c-sections

Now the worst bit of this for me - is that I am a yoga teacher, and always encourage my antenatal mums to use the ball in pregnanacy, which apparently is fine - but dont tell them not to in labour - should i be doing??

If this is true - why didnt they say that?? Anyone else heard it?

It is entirely new to me. Gym ball i didn't heard that. Actually how the gym ball helps for normal delivery? I didn't get clearly from your explanation.

I have never heard that before. I used the ball during my labor, so have several of my friends and everything turned out fine. None of us used drugs though. That is probably where your problem started and not with the ball.

Sorry to hear about your complications during labor. I hope that both you and baby are doing well now.

Ive never of this before, and Fallenangel what you have written is quite difficult to understand!

My daughter in law spent all of yesterday on the gymball. She was told this in her birthing classes. I haven't heard of it before either. She went into have the baby last night, so it must have shook things up.
