Default Epidural

How many of you ladies who have give birth had epidural anesthesia done? I had it done, and it had helped sooooo much. My contractions were still coming on strong, but I was just peacefully lying on my back, as if there was nothing to it. I was even joking with my husband and the nurse!

I was induced with both of my children. I got the epidural and didn't feel contractions until it was time to push! LOVED it with my first. With my second, they [without telling me] let a student do it. After 4 very painful pokes and hitting a vein they finally got it. I was crying and they had the nerve to ask me if I was crying because I was scared. I couldn't even speak I was in so much pain. My amazing nurse told them I was crying because I was in pain and they should know what they are doing when they stick a needle in my spine. They finally got it, but I was very sore. Not to mention p***ed off that they didn't ASK before letting a student put a huge needle into my spine.

That's terrible trinale!!! They should have told you it was a student, and asked you whether you were okay with that. And I would have told them NO, let a professional anesthesiologist do it. It smarts a bit even if done right, I can't imagine what it would be like with them trying several times, hitting a vein, etc.
