Default Remembering labor pain

The Bible states, "When a woman gives birth, she has a hard time, there's no getting around it. But when the baby is born there is joy in the birth. This new life in the world wipes out memory of the pain". John 16:21 Msg.

It has been 24 years since I gave birth and I know that the labor was very painful and long 23 hours with no anesthesia (don't ask); however, I cannot really remember the feeling of the pain. What is your experience with remembering labor pain?

I asked my mom a similar question about when she was pregnant with me and my older brother. She, too, said that she did not remember the pain. I cannot understand how a person forgets so much pain in an instant. She told me that she was more concerned that we were born healthy and that she was focused on how beautiful we were.

A friend of mine tells me the same thing: the moment you see your baby, you will forget all the pain. I highly doubt it though. Just being me has a lot to do with it, LOL.

You do forget it, that's very true.

Some women do find the whole birthing experience very traumatic but ask yourself if it was really that bad, why would women put themselves through it a second or third time.

You may forget the pain once it's over, but during the whole birthing process, you may not feel that way. Some women may say some very mean and angry things during that time. I don't blame them at all.

That's really interesting. I find it hard to believe that someone could just forget something so painful. I guess it's kinda like me getting my tattoos and piercings. You do it because you want to, and once the pain's gone, it's over and you move on with life

I don't think I will ever forget that experience. The pain was really worth it. the joy of seeing your baby wipes all the pain of childbirth from your mind.
