Default Newbie here

I'm a fan of forums and was looking for one particular for women and ran into this one. I read a couple of the posts and it seems to be an ok place. I love sharing advice and discussing different subjects.

I'm from the Oregon, USA where I live on a small alpaca farm with my kids. I am a full time student, going to school for a degree in wildlife science. I also love to write and garden.

I hope to make lots of friends and share and learn.

Welcome UrsusAmericanus.

Do you mainly raise Alpaca for the fur or for meat?

I raise the alpacas for their wool. It's true they spit but not nearly as bad as llamas. Alpacas have a pretty good disposition and they're great around little kids.

Thank you all for the welcomes.
