Default Potty training

I have started potty training for my kids at an early age of 2 1/2. I have also seen the benefits brought about by this discipline. Specially when I see other children of their age who cant do this yet, I can say to myself that really it pays to be patient with training children.

I started my daughter at the age of 2. She picked it up quickly and was potty trained by 2 and a half years old. It's something you have to keep working with your child with.

I think boys are harder than girls. I only have a daughter.

I have to say that potty training is so easy, I was so worried about it for so long and I think it was me who was more nervous rather than my child. Once the child is ready then it's time to start, I firmly believe to get good results it should be done by 3.5 years.

I started all of my children young, to young. It became more than a struggle than anything. The pressure was on me and my child. I found that when I slacked off and let them learn on their own--things went a lot smoother.

Both of my boys were trained by 3 1/2 and my daughter was almost 3.

I think society pressures parents to have their children potty trained, but the reality is--a child will not become trained until they are completely ready and all children are different. It's great to teach them the basics, but ultimately it's when they are 100% ready.

All of my children were trained before they were 3 yrs old.

My first son was only 18 months and totally trained. I have no idea how this happened! My second was just about 3.

I think that kids who aren't trained by the age of 3 have parents who really don't care. By 3 they understand when they have to go. It is parents laziness that creates these kids not trained until 4 or 5.

Is it easier to train boys or girls? I have two boys. The youngest is still an infant. The eldest is 3 1/4, and it has been tough. I have been working at it for months now. He can use the toilet but sometimes chooses not to do so because he "wants to be the baby." It's a control issue with him. He is jealous of the baby. Thus, I have had a few messes to clean up.
