Default Colds and Flu

My 19 month old had developed a terrible cold and was hoping some of you guys had some home remedies that I could use to ease her congestion and cough.

She is too young for OTC medicines, so what can I do to help her?

You can give her some lemonade. It's a good source of vit C my mom used to put it in my bottle. It's sour but she has to drink some.

You should probably talk to your doctor. Special care must be taken when it comes to infants. They should take their medicines in much smaller doses. If you read on the box of a package of medicine, it will tell you.

For colds, you can do steam inhalation or nebulization with normal saline solution 3 times a day to ease the congestion. If there's no improvement, I usually use Sterimar Nasal Spray-baby for my nephew. Of course, I think it's better if a pediatrician sees your baby right away.

You need a professional advise when it comes to infant's illnesses. Some infants have allergic reactions to some medications. Avoid self medications, this will harm your baby.

That's a very good point. You have to be really careful when you give anything to infants. Always talk to a doctor if you're not sure.

Karvol is great, the plug in for the room and the drops that clear the nose, yo just put a few drops in water in the room or on one of their blankets, I love this stuff it really does work. Saline drops are great for up the nose to clear their breathing.
