how much formula should a baby have during the day?

A 'text book' baby (newborn) normally feeds on formula every 4 hours throughout the day and night. Every baby is different and the amount of food it needs can also depend on the baby's weight too.

All you have to do is take the advice of your midwife and follow the instructions on the formula tin.

When I used to babysit my siblings growing up, I couldn't believe how much they ate sometimes!!

Newborns usually feed 1-2 oz every 2-3 hours...of course, the mother has to adjust the feedings eventually. If he still cries after feeding then I guess you have to give him more milk.
