Default Chicken Biryani

How many of you like Chicken Biryani? I myself like it and make it in a simple way at my home frequently.

Ingredients for chicken Biryani:
1. chicken - boneless/with bone, skinless(1/2kg).
2. Rice which you use for biryani, some use basmati & some ordinary,
(1kg).
3. Onion- 2( finely sliced & long).
4. Green chillies-6(cut into half).
5. Coriander leaf if necessary.
6. All spicy items like elaichi, etc as it is ( each 3 in number).
7. Salt to taste, turmeric powder(1/4 tsp).
8. Chilly powder(1/2 tsp).
9. Yogurt- 4 tbsp.
10.Ghee-4tsp, Oil-1tbsp.
11. Ginger-garlic paste-2tsp, Garam masala powder-1 tsp.
12. Coriander & cumin powder- 1tsp.

Procedure:
1. Wash chicken nicelyand keep in a bowl.
2. Wash rice needed for biryani in a seperate bowl.
3. Add all the powders mentioned above in chicken and mix nicely.
4. Add yogurt and ginger-garlic paste to chicken.
5. Allow the marinated chicken to stay for an hour.
6. Take a dish to cook biryani, keep on the stove.
7. Put ghee & oil in the dish & heat it.
8. Put spicy items in heated oil & fry them.
9. Add onions & chillies to the spicy items and fry till they are changed to golden brown colour.
10. Add marinated chicken to the onions, mix the contents nicely, close with lid & let it cook for 10 mins.
11. Now, add rice to the cooked chicken and mix nicely, end fry it dry.
12. Atlast add required amount of water to cook, that is 1:2 ratio.
13. After the biryani is cooked, garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.
14. Biryani is ready to eat now, it can be served with raitha or any other gravy item.

I love chicken biryani but my recipe is a bit different from this. I got it from a friend but he added potato and boiled eggs on top. I suppose he adapted it. I always taught it was breyani. Maybe he changed the name to fit his changed recipe.
