Default Natural Light

I have a lot of windows on my house, twenty-four to be exact. The front of our house faces towards the south, so when the sun is out, we let up the shades to let the light in. We use less electricity while taking advantage of natural light. Does anyone else try to take advantage of the natural light?

I think that's a great idea. I wish I could take advantage of the light, but the light doesn't make it in our house, because of the areas of the house that have the windows. We also have a lot of trees around our house, so it blocks the light that would come in.

Here we do have lots of windows too especially in the morning at our room when the sun is up oh it's really blinding me telling me that it's time to wake up.

You guys are so lucky. I miss my old house, because we had skylights. That was so amazing! It's nice to not have to have lights on all the time. Saves you tons of money

I try to take advantage of natural light when I can. However, we don't have alot of windows in our house. We have like two small ones in the bedroom. We are always using the light in there.

The natural light is great on the second floor, and it becomes especially powerful when the sun is heading west. I try to take full advantage of that. The only downside is that in the summer, it can get terribly hot.

Yeah right now we're suffering from intense heat at our bedroom during lunch time. But downstairs in the ground floor the air there is cold I rarely use a fan when I'm downstairs.

Before I moved to my new home; I was staying in one of the skyscrapers at BKC. We had the opportunity to enjoy the morning sun as the penthouse was east facing. But it would get darker much earlier in evening. In our new home we have managed to have enough E/W facing windows for natural light to get in from sunrise to sunset.
