Default Tapestry and Needlepoint

I love all types of creative passtimes, involving needles of somesort and appropriate thread, but nothing thrills me more than to receive a brand new, untouched (virgin if you like) tapestry kit for me to work on.
I rip the package open enthusiastically, and it doesnt matter what else I was doing, I have to start right away, at least sort out the threads and get a feel for what goes where.
Shame, its actually been a couple of years since I did any, and I do miss it so.

I have tried needlepoint but found it quite time-consuming. I also realized that it is quite hard to relax while doing this activity. I just gave up on it because if I can't enjoy what I do, there is no point in me spending time on it...

I used to do simple cross stitch projects, but have to finally give up on the more beautiful and complicated projets. My eyes are getting weak.

My sister is big on doing needlepoint. She makes beautiful things. For my wedding she did a huge needlepoint that had my name, my husbands name, our wedding date and time on it. It was framed and we hung it in our living room for years.

My grandma is the same way she loves needle work . She said it brings her peace and I think that that is where I got my artsy side .

You should start it again if you really miss it, im sure you will make you feel really happy!

The only needle work I ever did was in school, its something good to learn but like butterfly said it takes a lot of patience and is time consuming, something which I don't have time for at the moment. Maybe when both my kids are in school full time then maybe yes.

Just out of curiosity is needlepoint is different from needle work itself, as its done on a canvas? Right?

I think needlepoint is a type of needle work. Every craft done by hand using a needle is needle work and needlepoint includes cross stiching, tapestry and others using canvas cloth. Am I right?

I did and enjoyed some needlework growing up, mostly some simple embroidery. I found it very pleasant, but I have always wanted to earn money with my work, not just spend it on kits and then have to give away my completed projects. So when I figured that selling my work was nearly impossible, I gave it up.

The one way that I make sure that the kids get what they need and what I want is to make it a point each week to make a deposit in the checking for the kids and a deposit in the savings for my self or for a vacation .
Either way we are taken care of . I also try and set a buffer for emergencies in case something happends that way we have some money put aside .
