Do you send text messages on your cellphone? It seems like a lot of people are really obsessed with it, and they'll text someone who is sitting right next to them instead of talking. I think it's a good idea for emergencies if you can't talk on the phone, but I don't really care for it. I don't want to type with my thumbs.

I don't do it either. It is a convenient way to quickly relay something, but I don't understand the obsession. Email works so much better. |

It sure does, and it's free. I don't want to use up all my time going back and forth with a person who has nothing else to do. I like being productive, and texting is just another way to steal all of your time.

I do text. My kids are big texters and they are always texting me. I always say why don't you just call, but they would rather text. I do think that it is nice when we have family night and they are texting their friends rather than disrupting everyone and talking to them on the phone. |

I'm not fond of texting anymore, since I got settled already there's no way I'm going to text anyone from anywhere. I only use my phone when the texter is an important person. I hate being bothered with text messages all the time and all they say is "hi."

I am absolutely obsessed, and yes.. I'm the person who will text someone who's right next to me lol. I don't understand it myself. It's just fun. I love technology and I love cellphones. They entertain me

I can't understand the teenagers who can actually carry a conversation with someone sitting next to them while texting someone else....and while they are texting, they don't even have to look at the phone! They must do a ton of texting to be able to do it without even looking at the phone!

That does sound kind of fun, and I'm very amazed at this aspect of multitasking, but the thing is, that kind of thing is what attributes to people having a very short attention span. It's interesting and sad....

I love texting. You get to stay connected with friends and family. Texting saves time as it can be done along with many works. Benefit of multitasking. The things which you cant say to the person sitting besides when you are with a gang of people could be done through texting, and you can give a naughty smile on that note, its the best part of texting. But i hate one word text messages. |
