Default Drawing

Do you draw? I used to all the time and I found it to be really relaxing. I used to look at things and then copy them. I got really good at it for some time, and then I stopped and I'm not sure why..

What do you like drawing?

Phew I wish one day I could draw something really nice like my sister. I wasn't gifted since I can only draw cartoons like dexter and dee dee lolz. I haven't drawn anything in my sparetime now I only do that if i'm feeling so relaxed.

I find painting quite relaxing. I paint at night so that I wouldn’t be disturbed & recently started painting on canvas. Although I have always loved sketching about Environment, abstract & cartoons look alike of our professors.

Haha from Dexters Laboratory? I used to watch that show ALL the time. How fun!! Cartoon stuff is the easiest for sure.. and most fun in my opinion.

Painting does seem like a lot of fun, I have just never been good at it lol. We tried a bit in school and that was enough for me.. it was hard for some reason

I used to draw. I took lots of art classes, and I even got my letterman jacket in art. I realized that I only drew when I had an assignment, and later when I didn't have very much time, I didn't draw very much.

Ahaha you bet, they're much more easy to draw than copying an anime character which is more detailed. How I wish I could draw just like the japanese anime/manga artist.

There are lots of drawing books out there to help you, reira, but I'm not sure if they'll be any help. Many of the How to Draw Manga books that I've seen don't compare to the skill of the professional manga artists in Japan, so you know it takes a lot of hard work.

Yeah I guess only those people who have inborn talents in drawing can draw them without even consulting to a drawing book. My friend rica is really awesome when she draws anything it turns out really perfect. She drew a girl anime character for me and I still keep it inside my wallet.

I remember attending a seminar by one of the top professional cartoonist from Japan. When asked what we need to do to become a professional, he calmly replied, "either by god’s gift or rigorous practice."

more often than not talent is the requirement and no amount of skill gained from practice can take it's place

I am not gifted in this area... I don't have the artistic feeling that seems to guide the hand and give you that inner knowledge of proportion, light, etc. I can't draw or copy anything. I know a lady who is a professional book illustrator - her works look like a miracle to me.
