How many of you do crafting? I am going to be in my first craft show tomorrow! I made a bunch of sugar scrub- I love the way it turned out I also made some very pretty centerpieces for the holidays, along with some holiday earrings.
Do you find craft shows profitable?

That sounds like fun, let us know how it goes!

I have tried a couple of small craft shows to sell my crocheted items. They drew some attention, and I sold some, but not many.

I used to work with beads until a couple of years ago, but since it is very time consuming and the good quality beads tend to get expensive, I had to let it go. I really would like to start doing it again one of these days though.

I love crafts. I use to sell my crafts; however, as you stated it is time consuming and I could not keep up with the orders. I was making personalize cross-stitch items. I plan to build up an inventory of items and then try to stay ahead of the orders.

I haven't sold any of the crochet items I made. It is just a hobby. I tend to give the shawls away as gifts and the others I use for myself. the afghans are for our use too.

I've never been to a craft show, but it sounds like it would be fun. It's nice to do things that are outside of the norm of what you do.

I would love to get into some sort of crafting, I love being creative. The problem is that I just don't have the time to learn anything new at the moment.

I'd really like to leran how to crochet so I caould make cute little cardigans for the girls. That would be really rewarding.

I'd like to try my hands at making necklaces, bracelets, chokers from beads, but I do not know how to put the fastenings. Can anyone help?

There was a blizzard the day of our craft show, but we did end up making enough to pay for the table. We are doing another one in March. Everyone loved the sugar scrubs we made. The leftovers were given to the ladies in the family for Christmas.

Selene~ they have classes all the time in my area on makine jewlery. You should check and see if there is a class in your area. It is fun.

I've gotten really into making cold processed soaps (the "from scratch" kind you make from lye, not the kind you buy in the craft store and melt down) and have sold quite a bit of it, but we moved into a smaller place and there is no room for my soaping stuff in this abode. Lately I have been making diaper bags and baby carriers and giving them as gifts. I'm thinking I may put up a site on ETSY and hitting a few craft fairs. I'm lucky because I live in NYC so I have access to some really fabulous fabrics in the latest prints right down in the garment district.
