Besides studying different cultures, I have a passion for languages. I wish I had more time to dedicate myself to that. I've taken some Spanish and Japanese classes in the past. I found Japanese a little difficult for me, as I had to memorize all those letters and how to draw them correctly. Spanish was easier, pero no me acuerdo de mucho.(I don't remember much of it) Do you have any interest in studying foreign languages? |

I love foreign languages! I'm interested in Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese. I've always been interested in Greek, but I never got to study it as seriously as the other languages. I do have trouble making time to study the languages that I love, but have you considered teaching yourself?

I would like to learn Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French and Arabic. I have some books actually but my problem is whether my pronunciation is right or not. Is there an online tutorial for this lesson? I would be glad if it would be free.

It always amazes me every time I hear a person who could speak foreign languages. What do you think is the second universal language? Could it be Spanish? I think a person who knows how to speak this language has a big advantage over the other. |

| I am very interested in foreign languages. I took Spanish for 3 years in HS, and it was a lot of fun. I used to love memorizing words. I was getting really good for a while, but then after HS, I didn't have anyone to practice it with, so I basically forgot all of it. Funny how my mind works that way..

I think the languages that many people speak are English, Chinese, Spanish, and French. If you know any or all of those languages, you can probably get by just about anywhere. Livemocha.com looks like an interesting site. I think I'll try it out. Have you gone to unilang.org? I used to go there a lot when I was younger; it's changed so much since the last time that I've been there.

I like foreign languages as well, although it is can be challenging. The best way to learn a foreign language is by communicating with native speakers. Books and textbooks are good, and there some very helpful computer programs, but nothing beats talking and listening to real people.

I had a lot of penpals that I used to email, and they really helped me to improve my understanding of the language. I even go to websites that aren't in English. It's nice, and when people see my computer screen, they get a little confused.

I would love to learn Italian - it is such a beautiful language. My friends tell me that it wouldn't be too hard as I already speak French. I hope that's true. This way, I will be speaking three languages and the next one after will be Spanish.

They say that after you've gotten a good grasp of your second foreign language, the third and all of the languages after that will become so much easier to learn. French and Italian aren't the same, but they do share a lot of similar characteristics. You should have no problem.
