New drug delivery systems consist of transdermal patches, mucoadhesive gels, encapsulated tablets, liposome, suppositories etc are used to avoid conventional effects & disadvantages of oral drug delivery.

There are patches available for nicotine & also few used in menopause. Has anyone ever come across such delivery systems? My doctor advised my mom to use some transdermal patch for treating arthritis & it’s quite convenient as it doesn’t require remembering of dosing time.
