Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder, which is characterized by low body weight and body image distortion with an obsessive fear of gaining weight. They do this by starvation, vomiting, excessive exercise or taking weight control measures like taking pills. To cope with this disorder one has to change the attitude and start believing that thin is not in. One should take cinnamon powder with honey empty stomach in the mornings to develop immunity. One should take nutritious diet. Eat in a friendly, warm and healthy environment. One should discuss about fitness and health instead of weight issues. One should take lots of fluids like juice, milk, etc. One should munch on dry fruits and peanuts.

I sure don't want to be like that. I'm not that obsessed in slimming up I just wanted to be in shape. Having that kind of disorder is really terrifying.

Only in affluent countries do we have body image tied up with people not eating properly. For many countries, malnutrition happens as a result of famine. I do believe that anorexia is a bad thing, but it's a testament that we have so much.

I've had body image issues, but luckily they never got bad. I'd eat less for a few days or so and then get so hungry that I gave up on it haha. I feel really bad for the people who can't control it and are starving themselves. It's such a sad disease.

I think we've all had body image issues at one point in our lives; that's normal. People spend lots of time comparing their bodies to what's seen as an ideal. Anorexia is just one extreme. Most of us don't let it go that far.
