Did we ever give it a thought that watching Television could be an invitation to obesity. A research conducted among almost 40000 people of age group between 20 to 64, was found that long watching hours of tv increased obesity among either sexes. People watching TV for more than 20 hours a week were found to be suffering with obesity than in comparison to people watching it for 5- 6 hours. At the same time working on computer for more than 11 or so in a week were found to be obese in comparison to people working 1 – 2 hours a week It was also observed that long hours of reading did not had much of this effect.

I have stopped watching TV a while ago but it is true that sitting in front of it encourages consuming more food. I think that it would be a healthy option to at least refrain from eating while watching TV.

Of course! It's obvious: you sit or recline in front of TV, you do not move = burn no calories. While watching some TV may be okay, people tend to go overboard with everything, so they spend every free moment in front of it. That will contribute to weight gain.

| When I sit down and watch tv, I begin to feel tired. It's funny how watching tv makes me want to nap.

Watching TV doesn't have to be associated with eating although I have eaten most of my meals in front of the TV. I don't feel like I eat more, though because I'm usually so sucked into what I'm watching to eat.
