Default Blood Pressure

Do you have high blood pressure or low pressure? Do you know anyone who suffers from it?

I do! I hate it! My blood pressure goes extremely high. Sometimes the doctors don't even know how I am still walking. I have been put on 4 different medications because of this. It is better now but only with the meds.

I also have to watch over the counter medications closely now. They can spike my blood pressure even on the medication.

My blood pressure had started to get higher than normal a couple of years ago; I ate right and exercised, but it would not go down. Then a friend introduced me to Vemma, a liquid nutritional supplement. In about a month or so my blood pressure was normalized.

Really Lissy?!? I would like to learn more about this vemma stuff. Could you tell me about it? Where do you buy it? How do you take it? Is it expensive?

Boy, if I could find something natural to take, I would love it. Any information is welcomed. Thanks.

Vemma is excellent, all natural, no preservatives, and it tastes good, too - somewhat like concentrated citrusy juice. You just drink a two ounce "shot" of it, in the morning or at any other time of the day; that's the daily dose. A monthly supply costs me $60 + shipping, so it is about $2 a day. I will PM you a link.

Mine is borderline high (140/75) and has been since I was a child. Since it has not increased my doctor says that we'll keep an eye on it, but that I shouldn't worry about it much unless it goes higher.

One thing that you should be careful of if you are obese is a false positive on the bloodpressure reading. I am a fattie and I have fat arms. So I always ask for the larger cuff size. The regular size will fit on my arm but it is too tight and can cause an inaccurate reading. ALSO, you want to be careful that the nurse is not overpumping the pressure to get the reading. Some nurses will assume that since you are fat that you have high blood pressure and so they pump it way up.. this can actually cause an erroneous reading.

High blood pressure (also commonly known as Hypertension) is often called the “silent killer”, as many people can live for years with this dangerous condition without ever experiencing a single symptom. High blood pressure is estimated to affect 1 in 3 American adults. Once the condition arises, it is usually a life-long problem that needs to be treated and managed carefully.

High blood pressure is a serious condition that can cause extensive damage to the heart, blood vessels, and other organs in the body. If left untreated, high blood pressure could result in the following conditions:

* Stroke
* Dementia
* Aneurysm
* Arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis.
* Heart failure
* Heart attack
* Kidney failure
* Increased bone loss in the urine
* Vision problems
* Sleep apnea

While high blood pressure can be a potentially life-threatening condition, it can be successfully managed through the correct medical treatment and positive life-style changes. Treatment often includes prescription medication, natural remedies, or a combination of both.

Whatever you decide, it is important to adopt a holistic approach to your health and include life-style changes into your treatment program.

There are a number of herbal and homeopathic remedies that are well known for their ability to control high blood pressure with great success. Unlike conventional medicines, which do not always address the root cause, natural remedies can do this without the risk of side effects or addiction.

In keeping with a holistic approach to health, Naturopaths recognize that high blood pressure may be a sign or symptom of imbalance in the body and thus recommend a combination of lifestyle changes and natural remedies to remove the causes of the high blood pressure, rather than simply just treating the symptoms.

I actually have low blood pressure, but it has not ever been low enough yet to cause too much concern to my doctor. However, when I was pregnant my blood pressure rose significantly and I had to go to the hospital a couple of times to have further checks done.

My parents are had a high blood pressure. I always advice them to eat the right diet and avoid eating fatty foods and have exercise atleast 5-15min a day, they followed my advice and now they had their normal pressure. It's natural, isn't it nice?

High blood pressure if a common health problem in many people, and for those who have it, they must keep an eye out for what they eat, and avoid oily food and high in salt food. Like bethoven mentioned regular exercise can help to reduce high bp.

I do have a low blood pressure since college. The last time I checked my BP was something lower that what I had before. The nurse told me that I should take ferrous sulfate. Having a low blood really makes me feel tired during the morning.

Jack, i really have a doubt regarding this "silent killer", as far as my knowledge i know that diabetis is a silent killer, as everybody likes sweet and tries to eat it not thinking that it will damage their body, and now i'm knowing that "Hypertension" is also a silent killer, thankyou.

High BP or Hypertension is nothing but increase in bloodpressure than the normal, it is mostly heriditary & increases in people who are in tension & stressed.
The best way of becoming normal in BP without the use of medication is, avoid salt completely, if you don't like to eat without salt try to supplement salt with lemon added in the food, drink more water, and more over for people with full of tension and stress, yoga(meditation) and relaxation is required.
Exercises which make them tired by increasing the heart rate are restricted.
For people who are not hypertensive also can restrict salt containing diet, it is a preventive measure.

My blood pressure is pretty low, but when I go to the doctor, and the nurse tries to find my pulse, she usually has a pretty hard time finding it.

May be you are anaemic, why can't you check your Hb, and consult your doctor if it is low for further evaluation.

I have low blood pressure, too, and sometimes I find myself getting really cold from time to time, or I have to eat some crunchy snacks because of the cravings I get.
