I can't even imagine getting my blood drawn. The thought of it ALONE makes me feel like I could pass out. I know I'm going to cry if I ever have to get it done. So, why exactly would I need to? I've never had it done, except when I was a baby.

Simply ignore the situation. I learnt it back in college during a blood donation camp. Many of us volunteered & most of my friends passed out even before they inserted the needle. When my turn came, the person inserting the needle causally asked me to think of something interesting & I did. I won’t say that it reduced the pain but it did motivate me. p.s I didn’t pass out! I used to donate blood every 6 months. According to science, it's healthy because our body will produce new blood to replace what was remove. During the procedure, I think of something else, like a dream vacation or anything that will distract me from feeling the needle being inserted. |
