Default Diabetes

My grandma had diabetes and I'm worried I'm going to get it too, because I eat a lot of sweets. Do you know how I can work on not getting it? My dad doesn't have it as far as I know, but with the way I've been eating.. I'm pretty worried.

Well there are some signs and symptoms if you have a diabetes like always getting hungry and others. My uncle is a diabetic so he only avoid sweets if not just a little of it then he always eat small meals.

I think that you should start watching what you eat. You also have to be conscious of your weight. You have to maintain it close to your ideal body weight. They say that overweight or obese people are more prone to diabetes.

The weird thing is, I seem healthy physically and weight wise, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. My grandma was pretty crazy though. She could eat anything and never gain any weight. She was always like 100 pounds haha

My grandpa had to lose his toe because of diabetes. It’s heart breaking to see anyone suffer in such a way especially when the disease becomes more prominent after few years. I have developed some kind of phobia since that incident.

Good news is, there are plenty of things you can do to keep yourself healthy. I'm sure you'll be fine. That would scar me for life also. That's so scary!

Yes diabetes is a frightening experience. My elder brother has to take his insulin every day since 4 years now. I have him put on a strict diet, exercise & proper sleeping time. Doctors tell that he developed diabetes because his pancreas has been destroyed due to alcoholism & we quit drinking since.

I think that's really great that it taught you to stop. I'm sure you lengthened your life quite a bit. Good for you, that takes a lot of willpower!
