My mother is 57 years old and she use to often complain about pain in her knee After consulting a doctor he suggested to have X-RAY and then we came to know that she has a gap her knee .She was quite ok after using the prescribed medicines But as soon as the course was over again she is suffering with the same pain .Is there any solution for it .And I want to know what is a gap in knee and why is it caused |

Perhaps this has something to do with the strength and/or the density of her bones. You mentioned that she was a 57-year old. Does she have problems with her bones? Does she get enough calcium?

It sounds to me like she has Osteoporosis, which I believe is a thinning of the bones with age. I'm pretty sure it happens to everyone, but usually not to that degree. There are plenty of meds out there that help and really can ensure that people will still be able to function properly.
