Reduce the gassy effect of beans and pulses
1. Soak them in water for a minimum of three hours before cooking. Soak whole beans and pulses longer, preferably overnight. Change the water several times during the soaking process and cook the beans in freshwater. The water washes out some of these gas producing complex carbohydrates.
2. Add ginger when cooking to make digestion easier.
3. Mint and coriander leaves when added prevent flatulence and also help digestion.
4. Eat a salad before the main course to aid digestion.
