Pulses and beans are harder to digest than other foods. The digestion time varies from three to four hours and many people complain of bloating and burping after eating pulses in large quantities. This because they contain some carbohydrates that the body is not used to handling. These complex carbohydrates putrefy and decompose in the gut due to lack of proper digestion, giving a gassy feeling

That's really interesting. I notice when I do eat them, I get full faster, so I try to only eat a small portion. It seems to work well for me
