Default Flu Shots

Has anyone gotten their flu shot this year? Are you going to?

I got a regular seasonal flu shot done a couple weeks ago. Today, my mother went to get one, and the place was full - it was the first day they began giving shots after running out of the vaccine. There were many kids there, too, and most of them were scared of the shot, LOL.

I don't get the flu shots as I never ever get sick. Besides, there is no hard proof that flu shots do anything and I am not quite sure what the longterm effects are either.

I am not convinced that flu shots are that great, either. I got mine this year only because I am pregnant, and my doctor said that I should get vaccinated; otherwise, the risks of flu complications are too high, both for the mother and the baby.

Well, supposedly if you've had your shot, you will not get the flu during the "flu season" if you are exposed to it. The same goes for swine flu vaccination, which I will not be doing, because, from what I understand, it's a live virus they are sticking in you. Yuck!!

As to the shot itself, it is quickly done, and there might be some flu-like symptoms after that. I didn't have any though.

I have never gotten a flu shot, but I'm starting to think I should, because when I get sick, it hits me HARD. I mean, I'll lose my voice for weeks at a time. It's not fun! I always thought flu shots were only for the elderly.. lol. I really had no idea.
