Migraine sufferers can now take a sigh of relief as a team of scientists at the Ohio University has developed a portable hand-held device which could eliminate the excruciating pain of migraines before it onsets. This noninvasive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator (TMS) interrupts the aura phase of the migraine before it leads to headaches. The migraine as described by the patients is they see showers of shooting stars, zigzag lines, flashing lights, experience the loss of vision, weakness, confusion, followed by intense throbbing head pain, along with nausea and vomiting. According to the lead scientist Yousef Mohammad, the results of TMS use was positive as only 50-60% of migraine patients respond to the migraine drug treatments.

Fortunately I am not one that suffers with any major headaches, but I know many people that do. It does sound promising, but I am imagining some sort of electro device that you zap at your head with! |

Hmm is that really helpful? I can't imagine being zapped in the head since most of the time I used to suffer from migraines and drinking medicines sometimes is failing to cure it. Sleep is the best med for my migraine.

| That's amazing, but sounds a little scary to me. When new things come out, I like to wait for a while, see how they're working for other people before I would ever try them.

I don't get migraines, but if I did, I don't think I'd want to zap myself with anything. That sounds like that could have other medical compliations. With every medical solution, there's a side effect that's so much worse than the thing that you're trying to cure.
