Flax seeds are a very good form of health food and have many good values and advantages to having a good health. Flax seeds are high in fiber, and their great combination of good fats and high fiber make a great health food to help in weight loss. They also are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, which aid in helping the body against inflammation, so those who are vegetarians flax seeds are very beneficial. Flax seeds are also high in phytochemicals and antioxidants The best way to take flax seeds is by grinding them up to make a powder. Then add this powder to salads, soups, baked foods or anything you like of your choice. Initially you should only use half a tablespoon of flax seed powder each day then gradually increase to one tablespoon a day. |

I just saw this thread after posting on flax seed in the thread on supplements. Yes, i take flax seed every day and so does my husband. I mix the ground up seed into a glass of tomato juice which I take every morning. My husband, on the other hand, does what you suggest and sprinkles it on his food like soup or almost anything else. The flax seed doesn't alter the flavor of the food at all. You hardly notice that it's there but in the meantime it's working its fantastic benefits into your body.

I don't have practice of taking it regular with my diet. Some times very rarely i will have. Now only i know the good facts about it. So i try to use in our regular diet.

Can someone explain to me very simply what exactly flax seeds are? I've heard that they can be very good for you, but I don't know why or what they are.

What's a flax seed, and where can I find them? Would I be able to buy them from a health food store? If I don't want to buy them, is there another way of getting my own flax seeds like picking them?
