Default Dried Fruit

Common and popular health food includes dried fruits, and there are many people who love it. You will defiantly taste a difference in dried fruits which is good. Dried fruits can be used as substitute for things like crisps, biscuits or other food which are high in fat or calories.

Some of my favourite dry foods include apricots, apple, banana's, raisins, figs, and sometimes like dates.

For saftey's sake, you should use a hydrator. They are pretty inexpensive. The hydrator will dry the food BEFORE they go bad or begin to collect bacteria or salmonella. They also make good beef jerky. They will never dry out enough in just the sun and you will get very sick if you wait as long as it will take by doing that.
Fresh fruits are always more nutricious. The drying process takes away alot of the nutrients. In ur situation just go with the dried fruits and a multivitamin. I know its not as good as fresh fruits but its better than nothing.

Raisins, prunes, and dates are examples of popular dried fruits. Other fruits such as apples, apricots, bananas, cranberries, figs, kiwi, mangoes, pawpaw, peaches, pears, persimmons, pineapples, strawberries, and tomatoes may also be dried.

Dried fruits are actually easy to carry around as a snack and are easily stored and wont rot and can be stored for a long period of time.

Like you said Jack fresh fruits are nutritious, but dried fruits also have their own taste. Some people actually prefer dried fruits than fresh fruits, and therefore opt for them.

I'm a fan too BUT just remember that dried fruits do have a lot of calories. They have all the calories of whole fruits, but they are much smaller and you can eat more. So do eat dried fruits, but just keep track of how much you consume!

Exclamation Thanks for the calorie reminder!

I don't know about you guys, but I end up eating more than I realize.

A friend also warned me that apparently some fruits are oiled to help preserve them and so you have high calorie products.

Now a days I add a few nuts (full of the good fats) to a few pieces of dried fruit and that seems to work better for me. Not as sweet and highly nutritious.

Figs, dates, apple and apricot are by far my most favoured pieces.

I always make sure that I don't eat more than a handful. I mix the dried fruits with nuts and put them in individual little baggies. Whenever I crave a snack, I take one of those bags, this way I don't have to worry about over-eating.

For some reason I have never really been a fan of dried fruits, it maybe because I have tasted all the different dried fruits. I don't like raisins, so think that all dried fruits taste like that!!!!

I definitely prefer dried fruits - I especially love dried apricots, they are always so delicious. Dried bananas and pineapple are pretty good as well; however, as it was mentioned earlier, they contain quite a bit of sugar and should be eaten within reason.

I love dried fruits too. They are much more of a snack to me. I do get worried about the calories too. It is easy to sit and eat dried fruits by the handful.
