Default Green Tea

Has anyone here actually benefitted from the use of green tea ? I only seem to read the many benefits of it though i dunno if it really works. I am asking this mostly because the bitter taste of it is verry off putting. I was wondering wether is should continue its usage.

another usage of Green Tea is that it helps prevent cancer as it has no or very less caffeine content. It is also not addictive.

Although the taste is very off putting, but however it is very beneficial as it helps you to lose weight and the reason for this is that it speed your metabolism and it also cleans out your toxins

I drink green tea on occasion. I know that it is good for the body, for many reasons, although I have to agree with you about the taste. I add some sugar in it, but it does not help much. Sometimes drinking it as plain is even better.

Hey bammer, that's a great idea! I used to like adding mint into my regular tea, so why not try it with green tea! Now I just need to find some mint, LOL!

Green tea contains caffeine, it also contains antioxidants like polyphenols, which helps in preventing certain types of cancer. Although those who don't prefer caffeine can switch over to decaffeinated green tea, which is also available in the market. It also helps in the loss of weight loss. So it has more of benefits than negative effects.

I know green tea is supposed to have a huge number of health benefits, but I cannot stand the taste of it.

I'm not even sure if a little mint would improve the taste. I guess I am just used to my English tea to ever change.

Green tea is wonder tea, that i what i call it. It has some rich anti oxidant which kills the cancer tissues without harming the healthy tissues. Green tea is considered to be helpful during cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, high cholesterol levels and cardiovascular disease.

Thumbs up

Try adding honey and lemon if you really can't tolerate the bitter taste.

For me drinking tea had been a habit after dinner and before going to bed. I move my bowels completely every morning before going out for work and never did I experience constipation. It does speed up your body's metabolism.

I benefit from green tea in that I find it both relaxing and energizing, which is a strange but useful combination in my fast-paced, stressful life. I don't believe in decaf but if I have to drink it decaf I will because I enjoy the flavor. As antkmom said, hot tea can curb hunger pangs because warm fluids help you to feel full and satiated. (It is also good to drink water when suffering from hunger pangs because a lot of the time hunger is actually dehydration.)

For those who do not enjoy the flavor of regular green tea but want to reap the health benefits, I suggest Celestial Seasonings' (celestialseasonings.com) Pomegranate Green Tea. It is good both iced and hot and you can find it in the tea aisle of the supermarket. Celestial Seasonings has a whole line of green tea, which you can view here.

When purchasing pre-made iced green teas make sure they are not loaded with sugar or corn syrup - that defeats the purpose of drinking it!

You don't want to over brew green teas as that is what causes the bitter taste. I find that I brew it for about four minutes and it's good. There are a lot of different green tea flavors as well that you might find you like. Stash makes a green/white tea called Fusion that is really nice! It's supposed to be very beneficial to you as well. I probably don't drink enough of it to actually notice a difference though myself. I just like it!

Green tea can lose weight. So I've read too. It has powerful anti-oxidants "catechins" which known to inc. metabolism. It lowers your BMI and gives you smaller waist. Hope this one helps you.

Try letting it steep for a little less time, When it has been sitting around for a while it gets more bitter. You can also try white tea to see if you like the taste better. Also, even if you end up hating green tea and switch back to regular tea, remember that all tea has beneficial properties, it's just that green tea has a little bit more.

Default I love the taste!!

I just love green tea, if you are findin git bitter, maybe you are steepin git for too long. Its a wonderful digestive, especially if a little cardamom and cinamon quill is added. I like to add a little ginger to mine too, and if I am in the mood, have it with some honey. You can also try a Jasmine blend for the taste -- its milder

Green tea is very good for health and it has many benefits and it can used for two purposes in my point of view one is to take it as a tea, and the other is for burning fat purpose. It is good for health and is more better than black tea.
