| Garlic Garlic is the most protective of all the root vegetables, particularly well known for its healing properties. It is also a powerful immune system booster, helps lower cholesterol, inhibits growth of tumours & is an antioxidant because it has the rare mineral selenium. |

You know what I've heard? If you have a cold with stuffed nose, peel a small garlic clove, cut it in half and stick the halves up your nostrils... It sounds terrible, but someone I know was brave enough to try it, and they claim it helps!!

It is actually true. I have a friend who does that every time he gets a cold. But wait, he says what works even better than the garlic cloves is eating a whole onion! I haven't been brave enough to try out neither but I know he gets rid of his colds pretty fast, so there must be something in both of these foods that help either kill the virus or at least get rid of the symptoms.

Garlic has an essential oil (allicin)in it which is supposed to act like a disinfectant, this could be a possible reason why garlic helps relieve cold.

Garlic is good for a great number of things. Did you know you can use it to relieve a tooth ache. all you do is rub a little onto the affected area and the garlic helps to reduce the pain and swelling.

Yeah but I haven't tried applying garlic when I have tootache. I just don't like the taste of it and also the smell when it's not fried.
