Smile Healthy Watermelon

Watermelon
The lycopenes in watermelon give the fruit antioxidant properties. The white part of the fruit has minerals & can be grated & used in raitas & salads. The seeds are usually discarded but they are the most nutritious part of the fruit as they contain proteins, essential fatty acids & minerals. The seeds help in controlling raised blood pressure.

I don't like drinking water, so watermelon really helps me out a lot. It's tasty. I know there's not much to it really, but I just can't get enough. I wanna buy one now

I have never heard before that the seeds of the watermelon helps in controlling raised blood pressure. If it is the correct information then the seeds should be widely used for solving the problems of the raised blood pressure. Thank you very much for the information!

The white part of the watermelon can also be pickled! Pickled watermelon rind is a popular dish in parts of the southern United States!

My dad used to slice fresh watermelons with little bit of the white part. Fibers I suppose were the reason behind it. I hated it as it didn't taste sweet as the red part. I’m also planning to plant them in backyard using imported huge melon seeds.

If you thought watermelon is just a fruit that refreshes you, here’s something you should know - the juicy fruit has ingredients that deliver Viagra-like effects to the body’s blood vessels and may even increase libido.Watermelon may be a natural,Viagra says researches. That's because the popular summer fruit is richer than experts believed in an amino acid called citrulline, which relaxes and dilates blood vessels much like Viagra and other drugs meant to treat erectile dysfunction (ED).

I read this nice and healthy Watermelon Slush recipe in FEMINA. Sharing it with you guys. Hope you like it . I loved it!

Watermelon Slush
Serves 8

Ingredients
8 cups watermelon, cubed and seeded
¼ cup lime juice
¼ cup sugar
2 cups Sprite/7 Up/ Lemon Mirinda

Method
Process the watermelon, lime juice and sugar in a blender until smooth. Pour into a freezer-proof container and freeze for about 30 minutes or until edges begin to freeze. Stir and re-freeze. Repeat this process every 30 minutes or so, for about 90 minutes.
To serve, spoon ¾ cup of the melon slush into a tall glass or bowl and add ¼ cup of the soft drink. Decorate with some chopped melon or sprigs of mint.
